John 10:10 says, “The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy.”
That sounds an awful lot like depression if you ask me.
You see, we weren’t created to be depressed. In fact, in the second half of that verse, Jesus says “I came so that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”
But all-too often, depression has this unwelcome and unwarranted way of sneaking into our lives when we least expect it, and doing nothing but stealing our freedom and joy, killing our spirits, and destroying any hope of a better, brighter future.
And while that might be its end game—the goal of the enemy, which is to keep you from the abundant life God intended for you—it doesn’t have to write your story.
God has given us a tool that no one else has, which has the power to completely shut down Satan’s attempts. The Truth, which is only found when we spend time in the Word.
