Sometimes it is hard to know how to process the big missing puzzle pieces of life. What is a person to do when a tragic accident takes a loved one much too soon? When illness creeps in and threatens the sanity of everything normal, how do you move forward? When a woman is finally blessed with a child in her womb and then hears the words, “No heartbeat.” What then?
How do we gain enough strength, enough peace, enough grace to make it through?
With Jesus. When your heart is trembling and falling completely apart sometimes, the last thing you want to hear is another Bible verse from someone who has not walked in your shoes. Sometimes you just want someone to say,
“I get it.”
“No one should have to go through what you are going through.”
But here’s the thing. If we keep our eyes latched tightly to what happened to us, we will continue to relive and rehash every feeling that goes along with the event or the heartache we have experienced. You may never completely get over what has happened, but you can get through it.
When you are questioning if God is really enough to help you make it through, you usually know the right answer, but your pain makes you question when and if you will feel better.
How long wilt thou forget me, O Lord? forever? How long wilt thou hide thy face from me? Psalm 13:1(KJV)
Life can be devastating. Hearts can crumble and ache dreadfully. Nights can be long and oh so lonely. Days can seem like unbearable nightmares that will never end, but Jesus. Jesus is enough.
He is my strength when I don’t think I have any strength left.
He is my light when life’s darkest clouds roll in.
He is my song when I cannot gasp to sing another note.
He is my comfort when I feel at a complete loss in every way.
He is my joy when my face is flooded with heavy tears.
He is my friend when no one really understands what I am going through.
He is my guide when I have no idea how to take a step forward.
He is my peace when life’s turbulent storms threaten to take me under.
Jesus. He is enough.
I don’t know what you are facing today, but I do know this – Jesus is enough to carry you through. I know you might want more, something tangible and warm. Something you can feel and see with your own eyes, maybe an answered prayer, a blessing that can only be explained by God, or a verbal word of affirmation. But I’ll tell you from experience, Jesus is more than enough in the darkest moments of life, and He usually shows up in ways I never imagine. If you don’t know Him, don’t wait another day. Send me a message and let’s talk.
